LCC SBDC Client of the Year!!!
COLLINS DENTAL, INC
News of the start up of Collins Dental, Inc., owned by husband and wife Ray Collins, D.D.S., and Katrina Lueras-Collins, D.D.S., in Santa Rosa, New Mexico created an excitement in the rural community located in Guadalupe County. The excitement of the new dental complex was evident at a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony provided by officials of Guadalupe County and the City of Santa Rosa. The event was held on August 31, 2007 and was witnessed by many supporters of Collins Dental, Inc. that included family members, friends, county and city officials, and members of the community. One supporter indicated that “this is such a great blessing to have our own dentists in Santa Rosa. There is no other dentist in town and it will eliminate us having to travel an hour to get to the closest dentist”. One County official indicated that “it is wonderful to help our own”, eluding to the fact that Katrina is a native of Santa Rosa.
Collins Dental requested the services of the Luna Community College SBDC on November 6, 2006 to develop a business plan to be used as a financial proposal to seek a loan to purchase dental equipment. The loan to start the business was approved by the First National Bank of Las Vegas. The County of Guadalupe also committed funds to Collins Dental for leasehold improvements to their building located at 1000 Blue Hole Dr.
Collins Dental, Inc has plans to open a second office in Las Vegas, NM and has already been approved for a loan by First National Bank of Las Vegas. Construction on the Las Vegas office commenced in January 2008 and is expected to be completed in May.
