Congratulations to the Cobles! Barbara and Bruce Coble

Every year, each New Mexico Small Business Development Center highlights a Client Success Story of the Year. The Alamogordo SBDC is pleased to announce its 2012 Client of the Year - Coble Constructors, LLC!





The foundation of our local economy is created by small business owners. Our success client of 2012 knows full well about laying foundations. The Alamogordo area Small Business Development Center (“SBDC”) is excited to highlight Bruce and Barbara Coble of Coble Constructors, LLC as our Client Success Story of 2012.





Bruce worked in the construction trade and Barbara in an office setting for several years. In 1989, Coble Constructors was born. Specializing in concrete and concrete services, the company has grown to 25 employees. They added a second company, Americrete, which was established in 2009, fulfilling a life-long dream. Whether it is gainfully employing local people, supporting other small businesses and the local economy, or donating time or concrete, the Cobles do just that. They take pride in their workmanship and pride in their community. “We believe in creating long-term relationships with our customers.”





The Cobles have been able to successfully handle the downturns and manage the upswings. Barbara notes that having quality employees that can deliver their product at the Company’s high standards has been an important factor in their success. She also mentioned that having local bank support as vital in obtaining financing. Having that support has led to bigger and better things, like the federal government contract that Coble Constructors was recently awarded. She notes that with the help of the Procurement Technical Assistance Program advisor, she became a “recognized” woman-owned business in the government's system and the SBDC business advisor provided assistance with obtaining the bonding requirements.





The Cobles have used the Alamogordo SBDC several times over the years. “When I find someone that can help, I will continue to go back. I know that there’s someone there that can give me the answers I am looking for or send me to where I can find the answers. ” Even as existing business owners, business planning and startup assistance was useful. “Sometimes businesses just start, that’s the way it was with the first company. With our second company, we wanted it to be more planned. The SBDC helped us to focus the dream, get us going in the right direction, and get it (Americrete) off the ground.” When asked why they do what they do, Barbara says “I love seeing the things that we have built, even years and years later.” Congratulations to the Cobles, because what they have built, is a successful company.

TURN into the north entrance of the campus, followed by an IMMEDIATE LEFT and go UP the hill. You will see the Techical Education and SBDC building at the top parking lot. We are located on the northern end inside the building, Rooms 107 and 108. Handicapped parking and access to the building is available.
